2580) There have been times in my life when I’ve needed and asked for someone to show up with me for a difficult situation. These times included a medical procedure, a hard conversation, or a time when I needed to stick up for myself, but I was too timid.

This other person rarely spoke to me or others during this time; it was just the fact that I knew they were there, and this gave me courage and strength.

Deuteronomy 20:1 tells us that in the most difficult times, God is right there, beside us. Sometimes it’s enough to know he’s there. At other times, he fights for us when we no longer have the strength. On this side of eternity, we cannot see God with us, but he promises he is. That’s good news. It’s also good news to know that on the other side of eternity, we will see God right there, beside us, forever.
