2620) I used this title for this “minute” devotion, not for clickbait. I used it because it’s a reality and it’s a struggle for me.
What doesn’t God care about? I can take this statement and pinpoint the letter of the law and refute it. I can build argument after argument against this blanket statement.
But when I look at verses such as 1 Samuel 16:7; Matthew 6:25-34, I understand what I meant by this title.
1 Samuel 16:7 states, in a nutshell, that people look at the outward appearance of others (and themselves), but God looks at the heart.
God doesn’t care about these outward things that I sometimes put a high priority on. Does he care about me when I’m concerned about these sorts of things? Of course. Does God care if we abuse our bodies or make our appearance immodest? Again. Yes.
What I am reflecting on today is the caring that shapes a priority. Low on the list would be Matthew 6:25-34. Here, Jesus states that worrying (caring) over what we will eat, drink, or wear should be a low priority. Learning to tune into and live what God makes as a priority is what God does care about.
