Integrity

2603) Integrity is valuable. I define it as choosing to do the right thing when no one else is watching. What makes it take on more value in my eyes is these right choices are not as common these days.

Proverbs 10:9 tells us that someone walking in integrity walks securely. (ESV)

Making the choice to do the right thing isn’t a onetime choice. The verse tells us that the one walking, a continuous action, is a necessity of this choice. It’s an ongoing choice rather than sporadically.

The verse then reveals that the one making these choices will walk securely. The Hebrew word used here is betach. It means a place of refuge and safety; ultimately, peace within.

One way that integrity is valuable is because it helps nurture peace within.
