2586) As those of you who are aging know, the older we get, the harder our hearing becomes. My hearing isn’t so bad yet, but I find it hard to hear my husband talk when driving because of the noise of the car and his voice pitch.

And yet, 1 John 5:14-15 reassures us that God is never hard of hearing. That each time we call out his name, He is listening. Even when our call is full of tears or in a whisper.

When I think about this, I sometimes wish I could see God face to face and know he is listening. But the good news is, those of us who are his children WILL see him in the next life. Choosing to believe the promise of this verse is an act of faith, and we need to make sure we’re not hard of hearing when it comes to God’s answer to our prayers.
