Unpopular

2583) There have been times in my life when I have sought popularity. Jr. high, for example. It’s also true that I have occasionally wished for popularity as a writer. After all, this often generates sales.

There have also been times when I’ve sought unpopularity from certain groups out of rebellion. I see this on social media when some do outrageous things, often unpopular, just to draw attention.

Psalm 38:20 advises us that there will be some who will look for ways to take the good we do and spin it so we look bad or noncredible. The verse seems to imply this will happen sometimes; almost like God’s giving us a heads up. It’s not my job to seek popularity. I just need to be who God has made me and do what he asks of me.
