A Full House

2503) For many years, I took high school kids on retreats, twice a year. There, we studied God’s word, played games, ate, and laughed a lot.

There was one thing I really didn’t like about these events, and that was trying to get some sleep in a cabin full of talkative and excited girls. Their chatter filled the small room for hours into the darkest part of the night.

In Proverbs 24:3-4, I think of full rooms. The verse tells us wisdom is needed to build a house and understanding makes it established. It also says that knowledge fills the rooms.

I smile when I think of having a house full of the knowledge of God’s wisdom and his gift of understanding. I can sure sleep better with my rooms being filled with these things than with a cabin full of talkative girls.
