2459) I grew up in cities, and now that I live in a very remote place, I sometimes forget what it was like.
For example, I always needed to be mindful of train schedules, as a stop on the way to work would make me late. I also needed to be very aware of my surroundings in a store’s parking lot. And how rush-hour traffic could be slow and unnerving, depending on where I wanted to go.
Another difference is that I knew very few people who owned firearms (though this most likely has changed greatly since I lived there). Only the criminals had them.
When reading Proverbs 18:21, firearms came to mind. The author of this verse tells us the power of the tongue is great. It can bring life or death depending on how it’s used. What we say is potent. How will we wield the weapon today?
