2451) How many of us remember the jeer we heard as a child, finders keepers; losers weepers? It seemed to put an emphasis on finding rather than losing.
It’s an interesting point of view, especially when I read Proverbs 3:13. It reads, blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding.
The verse does not read, blessed are you who get wisdom; it says those who find wisdom.
Wisdom isn’t a thing that just drops in your lap; it is a result of evaluating circumstances. It is seeking to find the good and bad of what happens in our lives and deciding to learn from our mistakes or those of others.
Because wisdom needs to be looked for, there are only finders who are keepers and no losers weeping.
