Seasons in the Soul

2412) I miss having four distinct seasons because I live in Maine. It seems like we go from winter into summer without the benefit of spring. In fact, many here say there is a season between these, and it is mud season.

Reading Ecclesiastes 3:1, I am reminded of the time when I first considered that we can have seasons within our souls.

There is the season of joy, then it can morph into despondency. My soul then shifts into peace with no turbulence and then changes to depression.

The good thing about literal seasons and those within our hearts is if you can wait out the undesirable, you will move into times when our spirit soars.

Good news. In the next life, we’ll stay in a constant state of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control.
