A General Overview of the Word of God and How We Have It Now

It is important to understand the history of the Bible, both the original documents and the English Bibles we now have. This study will enable you to have a solid foundation of knowledge of the authenticity, layout, and organization of God’s word.

This download comes with both the teaching pages and blank one where your students or those in your Bible study can fill in as you go.

As the people of God made their way out of the years of slavery in Egypt, God led them to the Promised Land. He specifically told them to destroy everything within the area because God knew it to be saturated with idols and the immoral actions centered on their worship.

Unfortunately, the Israelites did not obey this command, so the difficult future of Israel resulted from these gods and all they stood for.

In this download, you will learn about 9 Canaanite gods that were present within the Promised Land. You will discover the “area” they were supposed to have authority over, one place they are mentioned in the Bible (if applicable,) a description of each god (the ones that are known) and some rituals used to worship these gods.

You will also receive copies of the pages that are blank so you can use them in classes and/or Bible studies.

Studying the different names for God gives you a better understanding of the Bible passage in which it is used. With this download, there are 66 names for God/Jesus provided. In chart form, you’ll find the name, what it means, and one place you can find it in the English, Hebrew and/or Greek Bible. This download includes Suggested Bible study and teacher ideas. A completed chart that features the name for God/Jesus, what the name means, and at least one place in the Bible where this name is used. The chart provided after is blank, except for the names of God/Jesus, perfect to use in a classroom or Bible study.

The temptation of Jesus at the beginning of his earthly ministry is an important event. It is in this moment we can learn about God’s enemy, Satan, and some steps he took to try and tempt Jesus to turn his back on God, even if only in the moment.

In this download, you will receive an example of how you can hook your audience, whether it be a Bible study, small group or classroom with an introduction; getting them interested in taking a closer look at this passage.

You will also receive charts and teaching notes with corresponding blank handouts for your group to fill in as you progress.

The prophetic books of the Old Testament are often overlooked. Because most of them are not written in narrative form, they rarely show up in Sunday school curriculum and sermons. There is much to be learned in these books, however.

In this download, you will receive:

A general introduction to the prophetic books.

One-page summaries of each of the 16 Old Testament prophetic books. (I will not cover Lamentations as it is written by Jeremiah.)

You will also receive copies of these pages that have blanks to fill in that can be used in the classroom or Bible Studies.

In Bible Times, in order to be forgiven for the things you did wrong, a sacrifice must be made. Priests usually carried these out, but in narratives found in the book of Genesis, for example, the men of God carried them out themselves.

Something of interest. There were no sacrifices provided for intentional sin. These sins had to be covered on the Day of Atonement.

In this download, you will learn about 5 different sacrifices, including the animals or crops used, the specific actions required, the role of the priests, and the meaning or reason behind each sacrifice.

You will also receive copies of the pages that are blank so you can use them in classes and/or Bible studies.
