Blindfolded

2642) I remember games when I was a kid that had me blindfolded. If I really couldn’t see, I’d run into all kinds of things, and if someone weren’t nearby, I could really get hurt.

James 3:16 addresses a type of blindfold we sometimes wear; it is one made of jealousy and selfish ambition.

If all we’re looking out for is having more than someone else, either literally or figuratively; you know, cars or recognition, we will always run into things that can be detrimental in this life.

And if everyone else is doing the same thing, we’re seeing the violence and chaos that is a regular event in present history.

Wouldn’t it be better to take the blindfold off and value what’s truly important?

Colossians 3:2. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
