I wonder why there are so many sayings with the word, face in it. Could it be that the face is very important?

It holds recognition. It reflects a person’s thoughts and feelings; even hinting at who that person is.

The face is something in this life we will not see of God. Exodus 33:20 has him telling Moses that very thing.

I believe it’s out of God’s mercy we cannot see him face to face yet. It would be too beautiful and overwhelming. Our limited brain cannot process it.

However, just because we cannot see God in this way now, there will be a time when we will see him face to face.

We will commune with the very God who holds everything within his hands. As much as I yearn for this, he yearns for it more.

He wants his creation with him. He wants to reveal who he is, and one day those who have been washed in the blood of the lamb will see this.

Remembering that God yearns to see and have us with him can bring us hope and comfort in this life. Will God see you face to face?
