2571) I watched a video the other day about a man whose imprisonment lasted 38 years for a murder he did not commit. The authorities did some DNA testing and found out he was not guilty.

Of course, the man was glad to get out of prison, but he faced some difficulties. What do I do now? How do I forgive? What was the purpose of this imprisonment?

His questions came to mind when I read John 8:36. It reads, so if the son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (ESV)

Once Jesus has provided us forgiveness and salvation through the blessings of grace and mercy, what do I do now?

The man I referred to was able to present his story to people who find themselves imprisoned, though not in the same way he was. Many were encouraged by the power of forgiveness.

If you are God’s child, Jesus has set you free from the eternal consequences of sin and now, the question should be, what do I do now? How does God want to use me in others’ lives?

We have been set free. Now, I can look for ways to give back to God, out of gratitude for what he did for me.
