2449) Life is often a roller-coaster. We are propelled forward and upward into an exciting and joyful time, and then, like roaring down a hill, we land in difficulties and even despair.
As much as we’d like to manipulate things, both are facts of this life. Because of this, these can lead us to question the goodness of God. After all, if he is who he says he is, he could orchestrate our situations to only be the climb upward.
Yes, that would be nice, and it will be that way in the next life for God’s children, but what do I do now, in this complicated life of mine? I can remember Isaiah 49:16.
The verse reads: Behold; I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.
Latching onto the value God puts on each of us is always helpful. Just think, the God of the whole universe and beyond has our names written on his hand. A place he continually sees.
He also protects our walls, the place of shielding from the enemy. God is always evaluating what state of defense we have against things that are not in his will.
Though it may seem God has forgotten us; in a prayer that isn’t “answered”; in circumstances that aren’t just in our eyes, and when death breaks the door of our hearts open, we are still engraved and our walls are intact. That is love!
