2364) The dog I had several years ago was a hunter. You could see his little dachshund tail whipping back and forth in the tall grass, hunting a mouse.
Once, he saw one in a camp where we were staying. He sat facing the stove, where the mouse retreated, for two hours, finally catching it.
This picture is similar to what Paul had in mind when he wrote Philippians 3:14. He tells us; I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
The word for press here means to pursue with fervor in following Jesus.
It is a choice to be this vigilant. Don’t give up.
