2639) There was a time in my life when I thought God favored some people over the other.

I looked at the great people of the Bible, how Elijah just prayed, and God immediately rained down fire. How David poured out his heart and God responded. How God promises to be with Isaac in Genesis 26:24.

What I failed to see is that, yes, God was with these people and responded, but He’s also with me and is as attentive, compassionate and eager to save and help me as he did the people in the Bible.

Maybe God relates to us a bit differently than he did on the mountain with Moses, but he is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

He is here. Whether or not we see him doesn’t change that. Speak to the God of the Universe; he’s close by.
