2544) If you have never read about the Shackleton Expedition at the South Pole, you are missing out. Shackleton was a great leader and is the main reason all 27 in his crew survived in Antarctica for two years.

One of the things Shackleton insisted on is when there was danger ahead of their progress toward rescue, Shackleton always went first. He didn’t want his men in imminent danger. This also built trust with his men; seeing their leader wanting as much protection as possible.

I think of this great leader when I read Deuteronomy 31:8. Here, Moses tells us God goes before us. He is never surprised at what comes our way because he’s already been there.

Is it possible that God has experienced what we consider overwhelming circumstances? Yes, because God himself became human and Jesus walked the face of the earth in a human body with human circumstances.

Knowing Jesus totally understands this life can build more trust in him if you let it.
