2522) It’s interesting that we have certain memories that stay in our heads for long periods of time. These memories can be good ones or bad and can come to mind at any moment.
Some of the memories that reignite my mind are past bad choices and, at times, repeat over and over. When this happens, it’s easy to keep watching the memory and have it put in more roots, establishing it as a thermometer of my spiritual walk.
Fortunately, Paul wrote 2 Corinthians 5:17 under God’s inspiration. It tells me I am a new creation. If I have made bad choices, I can repent, asking God to forgive me, and in his eyes, the choice I made doesn’t exist anymore.
By faith, I need to embrace this grace, and when memories of bad choices come to mind; I need to say, this isn’t part of who I am anymore.
Satan loves to defeat God’s children, and when he tries to get me discouraged, I can remind him that God has a long, short memory; a memory that existed until I became his child.
