Do You See Me?

2483) Growing up, I often struggled with the fact that I am a priority in God’s eyes. I struggled because I didn’t see how God would want to make me a priority.

I often pictured Jesus sitting among a group of people but not seeing me; or, equally disappointing is he calls everyone to him and I don’t go because I know I don’t deserve it.

Isaiah 40:11 gives us a picture that shakes up both of these feelings I had. It tells us God tends his flock like a shepherd; he gathers the lambs in his arms.

This does not describe a God who is distant, nor one who gives many conditions in order to be held. I am a priority in God’s eyes, and he sees me, and if I can understand this better, it can allow me to see that grace flows over me.
