Receivers

2481) Not too long ago, I read something that included this line: you can’t give out what you haven’t received.

Interesting idea, and because I love digging deeper into things, I thought, yeah, I can’t give you my car keys if I don’t have them.

2 Thessalonians 3:13 tells us to not grow weary in doing good. I think this is a wonderful challenge, and if we all practiced this regularly, the world would be a better place.

But what connection am I making? If I’m trying to give something, like doing good, what happens when you haven’t been on the receiving end of it regularly? Then I need to pause and reflect on all the good God has done for me.

I am a receiver of everything good from God, so I do have a well of goodness I should be pouring out on others. Doing good produces more of it.
