2440) Everyone hears voices in their head. You know, that little whisper within that tries to communicate information so we can do all the things we do outside of us and within.
Sometimes this voice is helpful and other times, not so much.
The Bible tells us God often speaks to us. For example:
Jeremiah 33:3 – I will answer you.
Isaiah 55:11 – My word goes out of my mouth.
I know many other places in the Bible where God tells us he speaks to us, but the problem I sometimes have is, how do I know if it’s God’s voice or my own?
For example, Psalm 32:8 tells us God will instruct me and teach me in the way I should go, and when he does (or I think he does), is it truly God speaking?
How can a child of God know which voice is his? The answer is relatively simple.
John 10:27 – My sheep know my voice …. And they follow me.
The key is in knowing Jesus’ (or God’s) voice. The only way to regularly recognize someone’s voice is by spending a lot of time with them.
The time I converse with God regularly is when I’m walking with my little dog. The more I have conversations with God, the quicker I recognize who is speaking within.
God doesn’t want us guessing about hearing his voice. Spending time with him makes our hearing better.
