Big versus Small Circles

2428) If you’re like most people, you have a small circle of friends, those you share with and enjoy. You may also have a big circle of friends you spend time with, laughing, working, and caring, but they aren’t in your “inner circle.”

Having people in both of these is important. The small group may give support, encouragement, direction, and empathy.

The larger group is full of relationships, good and bad, and though they don’t usually give the things people in your smaller circle do, they are often people Isaiah 49:6 describes.

The end of the verse reads, I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.

We have a mission to be the light for those who do not know the Lord. Our smaller circle of support should help to sustain this.
