2284) In the last handful of years, I have paid close attention to the laws of the Old Testament. There are 613 of them.
As I read through them, I marvel. The people of the Old Testament had so many laws they had to keep regularly.
These included how to sacrifice, and the holy days when the high priest alone could enter God’s presence, and more.
No one was allowed to come to God themselves; only those of a special family lineage could.
When Jesus died on the cross, Matthew 27:51 tells us the curtain in the temple between the Holy Place (where only priests could go) and the Holy of Holies (where only the high priest could go) ripped from top to bottom.
This event changed our relationship with God permanently. Everyone now can access the presence of God. Any Time, Any Place, for Any Reason.
Because of Jesus, we can now stand in the presence of God. Go and see him. He longs to talk with you.
