2251) Many years ago, I had the privilege of spending the summer between 11th and 12th grade in Gibraltar with Teen Missions International. There were so many things I learned and experienced that summer that are still a part of my life.
One of the first things that placed God’s fingerprint on my soul was after I got on their bus in Virginia, stopping all along the way picking up teens to arrive in Merritt Island, Florida.
After the long drive, I got off the bus, and one of my team leaders, Linda Wolf, greeted me and called me by name and asked me how things were as I left Virginia. I was shocked she did this; after all, she didn’t know me.
I found out later that she had memorized all our team members’ names with their pictures–32 of them-and her calling me by name in this manner made me feel valued.
Jeremiah 1:5 tells us how God knew us before we were “us.” It tells us, before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.
The God of the entire universe had each of us in mind before he even created the world. This tells each of us how valued and important we are to him.
(In case you cannot guess, I’m the young girl in the middle of the photo.)
