Building Up

2250) Someone asked me recently if it bothers me to write of any topic in these minute devotions when it’s clear I need to incorporate the message more into my life.

I smiled and said to them that I write these devotions as much for myself as I do for others.

One such topic I really struggle with is found in Romans 15:2. Here, it tells us to use our words to build others up.

In day-to-day life, it’s easy to get into the habit of complaining about others and what they do. Sometimes it’s easy to do it to their faces, as well.

I think it would be a good thing for everyone of us to try to get into the habit of thinking before we speak, or, an easier way to start is to leave the destructive comment unsaid.

I know, it’s easier to write about this than it is to do it. Maybe trying to do this at least a couple of times a day would be a realistic beginning.
