It would be imprudent to not take the extra steps to research the identities of those we deal with. But some verification is difficult, especially with those who travel in the spiritual realm.

Throughout history, there have been many people who claimed to be sent from God. Some of them have been legitimate and some have not, but if you wish to be prudent, you’ll be watching for false teachers.

Matthew 7:15-20 tells us there will be many false teachers and the way they can be detected is by watching what sort of fruit they produce. Do they move people in the direction of being more Christlike, or do they divide and conquer?

Identification is important. Cutting corners when it comes to this is not wise.
