792) Though the world that our kids are growing up in differs greatly from the one we grew up in, there are many fundament things that haven’t changed. Whenever my students come to me with conflicts, they will often say, “So-and-so made me mad” or “So-and-so made me fight him.” There is a problem with what they say and that is found in the word “made.” No one makes us do anything. It’s our decision to act or react.
Proverbs 14:10 speaks to this very thing. Though others can make it easier or harder to act/react, ultimately, we make the choice. We choose our own actions. Blaming is an attempt to takes away our personal responsibility but, no matter how much we don’t want them, they are still our responsibility.
