585) It is always difficult to know what to do when someone you care about is going through “hell on Earth.” My tendency is to try and fix things for them but, unfortunately, most of these types of situations cannot be simply “fixed.” There is one thing we can do for others; we can simply sit with them. You don’t need to say anything, just sit. This allows the sufferer to know he/she is not alone. Though we cannot see God in this life, this is exactly what He does for us. The Bible tells us He is always with us, “sitting” with us. It takes faith to picture this but only a little grain of it! Please, sit! Genesis 39:20-21
