2565) Sometimes comparing is good. If you’re in a grocery store, you might pick up several oranges and look closely at each one. You’re looking for the best and freshest fruit compared to ones that aren’t.

John 10:10 gives us an important comparison. John reminds us here that God’s enemy (and ours) only seeks to steal, kill, and destroy us. The more, the better.

This is in direct contrast to the rest of the verse, which says that Jesus came to give us an abundant life. I believe this abundance is for both this life and the one to come.

Sometimes, the wider gate, which leads to destruction, can look attractive, easier, and popular, but the narrow gate gives a life that God says is truly better in relationship with him. (Matthew 7:13-14)

By comparing both carefully, we can save ourselves from many difficulties.
