2559) Sometimes I complicate my life so much! I tend to be an overthinker when, much of the time, life is simpler. This is true also in my spiritual life.
Romans 12:12 tells me to do three things as God’s child. First, rejoice in hope. No matter how difficult my life is, there’s always the hope or promise that God will set everything right in time.
The second thing I need to do is be patient in tribulation. When difficulties come my way, I’m usually on alert, trying desperately to make the difficulty go away. But what if it won’t go away? I can sit with this and remind myself that these tribulations will end in time.
The third thing I need to do is to be constant in prayer. Keeping a running dialogue with God is how I can have peace and patience. God doesn’t expect me to do all of this on my own. He promises to help. Rejoice in peace. Be patient in tribulation. Be constant in prayer. Amen.
