2551) I was reflecting on words this morning. Interestingly, it wasn’t directly connected to my writing. Instead, I was thinking of why words are so powerful.

Words are a way to communicate to others what we’re interested in, what we value, and sometimes, even the value we place on other people.

Proverbs 10:19 warns us it’s prudent to think before we speak. It reminds me that I’ve rarely had to apologize for something I didn’t say; it was always for what I did. Remembering how powerful our words are can save a lot of hurt and awkwardness.
