2436)  I heard someone state once that old saying stick around because they contain truth and wisdom. For example, don’t count your chickens before they hatch. You get the idea.

Another phrase came to mind after reading 2 Peter 3:18. The saying is, You catch more bees with honey than with vinegar.

Peter tells us to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord. What I feel is significant here is that God tells us to grow in grace, not in judgment, not in rule-keeping, not piety. So I then ask myself why.

I think the answer lies in Romans 2:4. It is the love of God that brings people to repentance. Love and grace are what brings amazing eternal change. They attract more “bees” than vinegar.
