2420) Verses like Jeremiah 17:14 have been a struggle for me. The verse plainly says, heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise. (ESV)
Why the struggle? Because there have been many times when I have asked God for healing, either for myself or someone else, and healing didn’t happen.
The struggle comes from having a different point of view on timing. When I ask these sorts of things, I assume the healing God offers is for the immediate future, but what if it also means healing in the next life?
If we are God’s children, then all that is wrong with us and ones we love will be healed at some point. It may not be now, but God will always bring healing. By faith, I can hold on to this. It’s also our responsibility to tell others of this divine healing so they too can experience this in this life or the next.
