Glorified

2402) When one is described as dignified, what pops up in your head? Is it someone who is blunt, to the point of destruction?

Is it someone who flips out at the counter of the pharmacy? Is it someone who would need to be censored every other word if they appeared on TV?

No. It’s obvious these sorts of people do not act with dignity.

To be dignified, which can often be translated as glorified in a verse such as 1 Chronicles 29:11, it means to act with emotional control. This person is respectful to others (and to themselves) and is assertive rather than demanding.

God always treats us with dignity and honor, even when we deliberately choose to disobey. When we can grasp this truth better, it makes it imperative that we treat others with dignity. God deserves to be glorified, and this is a specific reason why.
