Two-Way Conversation

2377) When I read familiar verses, I try to look for things I haven’t noticed before, or at least didn’t pay much attention to.

The verse for today is Jeremiah 33:3 – Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. (ESV)

When I’ve read this verse, I would always notice that when we pray, God will answer, but I have assumed it meant God would answer my prayers.

What if this is not the only thing it means? This verse is talking about our prayers, but maybe it’s also referring to the fact that when we initiate a conversation, God speaks to us in reply.

When I set aside blocks of time to pray, I hear God saying so much more to me in the midst of it; things I may not have heard outside my prayer time. Conversations are meant to be two-way.
