Calm

2369) I’m not sure if I’ve made this confession in my earlier minutes, but going to the dentist is very stressful for me.

My heart rate soars as I sit in the chair, but when they put the x-ray protector on me, my stress calms a bit.

They have told me that many of their patients ask to keep it on them during the appointment as the weight has a calming effect on many.

I think of and feel the weight of the x-ray protector when I read the second half of Zephaniah 3:17. It reads: He (God) will calm all your fears.

Taking the things we’re anxious about to God can help calm us. I’ve also discovered that writing my prayers is even better for me. It can have a calming effect. Try it. What have you got to lose?
