2348) For many years now, I have been prone to drop things. I don’t know if there’s a medical problem, but it’s a reality.
I have found that if I’m not careful to acknowledge this when I’m holding things that can cause great damage or be damaged if I drop them, it can lead to a horrible outcome.
There have been a few “drops” that could have cause serious damage to my foot, or to my dog, Cayce, who is usually right there when I’m cooking, etc. The things I drop often include knives.
Reading Proverbs 27:17, I see the author using knives as an analogy, not for dropping but for sharpening. It says, iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
This verse reminds me it’s important to be with and interact with others so we can stay sharp spiritually.
Others in the faith can encourage and warn of many things in this life and the next.
This makes me wonder if it’s important to notice the shape of the others’ knives because it can make a difference in how mine is sharpened.
We really do need others, and we should regularly observe what condition others’ knives are in (to the best of our ability). It can make a huge difference in our lives one way or the other.
