2347) From time to time I listen to an old talk show program when I’m walking. On one show, I heard the host say to a husband something like, you’d better understand that women have very long memories when it comes to the things in a marriage.

I chuckled when I heard it because I know it’s fairly accurate, and yet there is something else we need to remember, and it’s found in Jeremiah 2:32.

The verse reads, can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me days without number. (ESV)

As Christians, we need to guard against forgetting God. I know I don’t do it intentionally. I just get busy in the things of life, but knowing this can happen, it’s helpful to remind ourselves, in whatever form that works for us, we need to nurture our relationship with the Creator. Knowing the potential to forget is there helps ensure we don’t.
