2299) We live in a world that seems full of self-absorbed, selfish, “let’s take care of me first” kinds of people. We see luxury dangled before our eyes regularly and “me days” are the goal.
As children of God, it may be tempting to see these things and say, that’s not godly. After all, following God should involve sacrifices.
This also may be true, but God tells us in Ecclesiastes 2:24 that we are to enjoy the fruits or results of our labor; it’s God’s gift to us.
This enjoyment can be found within our working hours and in what we choose to do with our earnings (that may not be monetarily).
Though it’s a dance to find the balance between unselfishness and enjoyment, God has given us this gift.
Dare to open it and thank God.
