2165) A couple of summers ago, I was in a town where many tourist visit in Maine. I was making my way down an ocean walkway when I saw a man and woman on a bridge holding onto a rope which snaked down into the water.
I asked them what they were doing and the man said, watch. As they pulled up the rope, a gigantic magnet appeared with several objects attached to it.
They had nothing I would consider valuable, but it was interesting to watch what their powerful magnet attracted.
Jeremiah 31:1 reminded me of this. It tells us (in my own words) everlasting love and unfailing kindness draw (like a magnet) people to God.
Scaring, intimidating or guilting someone spiritually rarely attracts people to God.
The magnet God uses will work much better.
