2152) I was talking with a friend the other day while going somewhere in a car. There was a driver behind us who was getting quite impatient with the summer traffic where I live.
They quickly passed us and the cars in front of us, displaying his displeasure of being forced to arrive where he was going by a couple of minutes.
My companion said, they’re sure are a lot of mean people driving. I nodded my head and said, there are a lot of mean people everywhere.
As we drove a bit in silence, I got to thinking about our local and national news and recognize a lot of what I see results from mean and even evil behavior.
Thinking of these things, I am reminded of Romans 12:21. Paul tells us here not to be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.
It’s easy to sit back and lament what is wrong around us, but I’m thinking it might be more productive to fight evil with good.
No act of goodness is wasted time.
