2148) In the parts of the country I grew up in, I saw very few people who had sheep. But, as a Bible teacher, I have done studies of these animals and the people who care for them.
Sheep aren’t the brightest animals and the shepherd’s job is to care, protect, and guide them.
Because Jeremiah lived in a time when sheep were needed for several things, he easily uses people’s knowledge about them to make a point.
In Jeremiah 3:15, we read that God will send us spiritual shepherds, ones who are committed to him and they will care for us spiritually.
Because of this, we need to be on the lookout for these people, because God has them in place for a reason.
