2141) Our culture is hung up on trying to look good. Such as, do I look nice? What do you own? What kind of car to I drive? You get the idea.
There is another thing some people lift up as valuable and that is looking good spiritually. This can involve long prayers; sprinkling Bible verses all around and visually shunning those beneath them in holiness.
2 Timothy 3:5 tells us plainly that trying to look godly on the outside is detrimental to our faith. Paul tells us specifically to stay away from people like this.
Why? I can count on problems in my dealing with them and it can cause a lot of damage to people who are not yet committed to Christ.
Looks can be deceiving.
