Aging and Renewing

2137) Aging is a funny thing. If I were to ask one of my young scholars, how old are you, they would often answer 12 and ½. They frequently add on the extra months to their age to sound more grown up.

If you ask anyone around middle age how old they are, maybe they would answer, maybe not.

I think it’s important to note, however, that anyone in their middle age and up knows very well they are aging. We are aware of new pain, difficulty remembering things, and more

There is good news for those of us who are God’s children. 2 Corinthians 4:16 tells us, yes, our bodies are breaking down, but our soul continues to be renewed day by day.   T

his renewal of our souls isn’t automatic. We must dig into God’s word and lift up in prayer the concerns and praise each day.

Renewing is better than aging.
