2120) When I was a child, I remember hearing or reading about what it feels like to be in total darkness.
In order to experience this, I went into a windowless room, put a towel down at the bottom of the door, and turned off the light.
Standing there in total darkness was an experience I will never forget. At first, my eyes saw lighted objects, but these faded and my eyes became useless.
If I could have lit a match, this bleak outcome would be annihilated. In contemplating this memory, I am reminded of spiritual darkness. John 1:5 tells us light shines in darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.
My takeaway is this: you can’t see anything in darkness. You need light to see.
May the Light of the World (John 8:12) illuminate any darkness you encounter.
