Multiplication

2117) Many of my young scholars find mathematics difficult. They’ll come in and tell me what they’re struggling with.

I nod my head and remind them that math is complicated and asking for help is a necessary thing.

In Mark 4:1-20, we read of a parable Jesus told involving numbers. In The Sower, Jesus tells of a farmer tossing seed. Some land on a pathway, others on rocky places and some among thorns.

Jesus went on to say that some seed landed in good soil and grew and thrived. Here is where numbers come in.

Verse 8 tells us that some seed on the good soil multiplies 30times, others 60 times and some even 100 times. These numbers caught my eye because all three “harvests” are important.

Some of us are called to do important things in a limited capacity initially. Others are called to touch the lives of many, but in a fairly controlled environment. And some are called to sew seeds that will reach multiple groups of people.

All of these ministries are important to God. Thriving in the place God has you is always valuable and important.
