2115) Going to a doctor can take up several hours. I think there are many reasons for this and I certainly understand that circumstances dictate how long I wait.
I am kind of amused, however, to notice the waiting period in the waiting room and then, I am moved to an individual examination room and I think, all right. The doctor will be in soon. But this isn’t always the case. I have waited in this room at least another 15-20 minutes.
My thoughts of doctor visits came to mind reading John 3:1. Here we are told of the incredible event of a pharisee, Nicodemus, coming to see Jesus and his likely subsequent conversion to following Christ.
The very fact a pharisee came to follow Jesus is incredible because they believed they were the holiest men of God, but that was often not the case.
Jesus said in Mark 2:7, it is the sick who need doctors. Without being sick, we would not make most doctor’s appointments and many of the pharisees didn’t see themselves as sick, spiritually.
Perhaps it would be helpful to give yourself a spiritual exam to see you do need the Great Physician.
