2111) Being married close to 40 years carries many shared experiences and jokes only the two of you get. One thing my husband and I do, without thinking, is quote lines of movies we have found funny or significant.  

What do I mean? From the movie Babe, we will often say, that’ll do pig. Or from The Bridge on the River Kwai, we’ll quote, there’s always the unexpected.  

Another quote I feel is worthy of note. It’s from the David Suchet portrayal of Hercule Poirot in of Agetha Cristy’s movie The Labours of Hercules. In this movie, the villain threatens Poirot stating they will hunt him down some day. Poirot replies, I will not be hiding.  

When I think of this line, I am reminded of Jeremiah 29:13. Here, the prophet tells us God can be found if you seek him. In other words, he is not hiding.  

God is showing himself to us when we see the kind acts someone performs. When a text comes at just the right time. When your pet jumps on your lap just when you need the feeling of love. When you remember a Bible verse just when you need it. When you receive grace, when you are certain you don’t deserve it.  

Rejoice with me today. God is not hiding.
