2110) As I age, it becomes harder to quickly recall memories.
Sometimes I’ll stand there thinking I know I’ve heard about this subject before, but I can’t quite fit it with other pieces of my memory puzzle.
There are times, however, when I haven’t quite fit the puzzle pieces until something jogs my memory. This is what happens to the disciples in John 2:22.
They were reminded of Jesus’ words to the people in the temple courts who were cheating worshippers. These people heatedly asked Jesus to show them a sign, proving he had the authority to “cleanse” the temple.
Jesus told them he would tear down this temple and rebuild it in three days and verse 22 tells us the disciples remembered Jesus’ words after he rose from the dead.
As I pondered this verse, it led me to thinking of the importance of studying God’s words in the Bible.
We may not make an immediate connection but, in just the right moment, the Hoy Spirit can resurrect what we’ve read and reveal a specific way the verses apply to our lives.
It’s important to know God’s words.
