2008) If I take a look at what Jewish people have had to endure throughout history, I shake my head. From Bible times, to World War 2, to modern history, it’s mindboggling. Yet, the Jewish people aren’t the only ones who have been oppressed. The list is deep.
Why has God allowed this oppression? I don’t know the answer to this, but God does speak about this subject. One such place is Psalm 103:6.
Here, we are told the Lord works (Hebrew meaning: to do, to accomplish, to act- bible hub.com) righteousness (rightness) and justice (penalty, verdict, a sentence) for all who are oppressed (defrauded, violated, exploited and mistreated).
Putting it together, we read: The Lord accomplishes rightness and gives a verdict and penalty to all who exploit, defraud and mistreat.
These words are meant to give hope not only for races who have a history of abuse, but to all of God’s people who have had pockets of the same things in their lives.
Though we may not see what God is doing in the background during our times of oppression; he is working.
